About our Process
Dougherty Forestry Manufacturing (DFM) is located 35 miles west of Oklahoma City on a 3 acre facility with over 27,000sq of manufacturing space. Every attachment we produce is designed and built in house at this location utilizing the latest advancements in CNC based manufacturing processes, this not only ensures extremely accurate tolerances, but guarantees complete product uniformity and quality control. Before each DFM attachment reaches the hands of the end user the design must be proven worthy of the DFM name, this involves hundreds of hours of prototype testing before the production process even begins. We start our design testing process with comprehensive stress analysis on the materials used; after one of our products has passed this phase of development it is then prototyped as a one-off design for real world torture testing. This involves our test operators spending long periods of time at our offsite testing location to gather data on real world problems that cannot be calculated on a computer. Any problem that may surface requires the unit to be brought back, and disassembled. The failure is identified and addressed and then the unit is sent back to the field for further testing. When a unit can hold up in to the most grueling offsite testing without any failures we dub this version of the prototype the “hero”. Only when a attachment has reached this stage in the process to we consider it production ready. All of this is done with a singular goal in mind…to provide our customer with world class land clearing attachments.
